Most people know that recycling is important, and when they find out how dangerous e-waste is, they realize how vital it is to recycle e-waste. Unfortunately, recycling old cellphones, laptops, gaming consoles, printer cartridges, and other e-waste can be a hassle. City garbage systems aren’t set up to handle the 4.5 tons of e-waste that is generated every year in America.
When individuals learn about the e-waste crisis, they’re usually pretty shocked. While e-waste only accounts for about 2% of all the trash thrown out every year, it makes up a staggering 70% of the toxic waste. A single cellphone has lead, arsenic, chlorine, cadmium and mercury. When that cellphone goes to the dump, all its toxic chemicals end up in the air, ground and water. Think about the toxic chemicals that come out of 4.5 tons of e-waste. While e-waste recycling hasn’t always been convenient, it’s absolutely necessary.
Fortunately, at Planet Green Recycle, we make recycling easy and rewarding. When organizations sign up for our fundraiser program, we provide all the resources, ideas and tools needed to collect, send and receive payment for the e-waste gathered.
It’s important to pack and send the e-waste collected, whether the organization has just set up one collection box in an office or 50 boxes in offices, schools and businesses all over town. After a box is filled with 20 items or more, close the box, print our shipping label and take it to your closest UPS Store.
The labeling and shipping process is easy. Our partners never have to cover any shipping costs. Partners can easily print out shipping labels for each box of e-waste. Organizations can save time by printing out multiple shipping labels at once too.
We understand that our partners have busy lives, so we do all we can to make the fundraising and recycling efforts easy. The easier it is to recycle, the more people will want to get involved. Our EnviroPartners have access to many great tools and ideas, which are designed to make recycling and earning rewards easy.
It’s easy to fill up a box with e-waste, pack it up, and send it off FREE to our recycling plant. With every box sent, organizations rack up fantastic rewards.
