In the United States, 90% of all products are shipped in cardboard boxes. Big companies use the most cardboard and produce the most waste. We’re all aware that cardboard is a biodegradable and recyclable material. It’s one of the easiest to recycle because it’s not coated with wax or chemicals. Its strength comes from the wavy middle piece that’s sandwiched between two sheets of thick paper. This gives cardboard the durability that’s needed to allow it to be recycled into other paper products, such as new cardboard or paperboard.
